CARING FOR YOUR PEARLS
earls are easily scratched by metal or your other gems. You should keep your pearls separate from other jewelry, in the little silk bag we will send you with your pearls. Never store them in an airtight space, such as a plastic bag.
Pearls are adversely affected by such things as make-up, hairspray, perspiration, and perfumes, so your last act before going out should be to put on your pearls. Remove them promptly when you get home. If they might have come in contact with anything acid, such as fruit juice, salad dressing or pickled products, wash them immediately. Cared for properly, your good pearls will last your lifetime and beyond.
Do not use commercial cleaners unless made specifically for pearls.. Gentle hand-soap on a damp cloth will clean them if necessary, followed by a rinse. Lay them on a towel, and don’t wear them again until they are completely dry.
Pearls become more beautiful the more you wear them. The oils from human skin enhance their shine and luster. Enjoy your pearls and wear them often.
